IFC Gap Fulfilment (ESIA–LARAP Study) for the Pomalaa High Pressure Acid Leach (HPAL) Nickel Project
This consultancy supports the Pomalaa High Pressure Acid Leach (HPAL) Nickel Project by conducting an IFC Gap Fulfilment Study focused on environmental and social safeguards. The work involves a comprehensive review and update of the Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) and Land Acquisition and Resettlement Action Plan (LARAP) to ensure full compliance with the IFC Performance Standards, the Equator Principles, and Indonesia’s environmental and social regulations.
The assignment includes field verification, socio-economic and stakeholder consultations, environmental baseline assessment, gap analysis between existing studies and IFC requirements, and preparation of corrective action plans. The project aims to strengthen the safeguard framework of PT Vale Indonesia’s nickel development operations, ensuring responsible land acquisition, transparent community engagement, and sustainable environmental management throughout the project lifecycle.
By aligning project documentation and practices with international sustainability standards, this study contributes to the environmental and social due diligence required for international financing and reinforces PT Vale Indonesia’s commitment to ethical, transparent, and sustainable mining operations.
